Partnerships with other research centers | Grenoble Institut des Neurosciences

The Grenoble Institute of Neuroscience (GIN) was founded in 2007 by Inserm (French National Institute of Health and Medical Research), the Joseph Fourier University, the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) and the Grenoble University Hospital Center (CHU). The location of the GIN was chosen to facilitate interaction between researchers and the Grenoble CHU clinical practitioners.

At the level of the Rhône-Alpes region

The GIN has developed partnerships with the Lyon Neuroscience Research Center. There has been long-standing interaction between the "IRMage” Unité Mixte de Services (UMS) - a joint research center - and the Lyon research teams regarding several imaging techniques (MRI, PET). Intensified research activities between the two cities facilitate the organization of joint training programs, professor exchanges, joint seminars, etc.

GIN research teams have also developed projects with the ARC (French association for cancer research) "Handicap, aging and neuroscience" and with the CLARA Cancer Research Cluster.

At the national level

Since the Institute’s creation, all GIN research teams have developed close scientific partnerships with various national laboratories and institutes involved in neuroscience research. Mainly through ANR (the French National Research Agency) research programs, the GIN teams work with the Brain and Spine Institute (ICM, Paris), the École Normale Supérieure's Biology Department (IBENS, Paris), the Collège de France’s Neuroscience Department (Paris), Institut Curie , the Mediterranean Institute of Neurobiology (Inmed, Marseille), the La Timone Neuroscience Institute (INT, Marseille), the Brain Dynamics Institute (INS, Aix-Marseille), the Institute for Functional Genomics (IGF, Montpellier), the Neurocentre Magendie (Bordeaux) and the Interdisciplinary Institute for Neuroscience (IINS, Bordeaux).
