The Grenoble Institute of Neuroscience Ph.D.

The Ph.D. is a research training that grants students the degree of Doctor. It is a three-year degree. The Ph.D. provides genuine professional experience. It is necessary to have a Master’s degree or equivalent to enroll in a Ph.D.

Preparing a Ph.D

Around fifty students are currently preparing their Ph.D. at the Grenoble Institute of Neuroscience, in the Neuroscience specialty, but also in other specialties (signal processing, biology, etc.). The Institute is affiliated to three Doctoral Schools from the Grenoble Alpes University:

  • Doctoral School for Chemistry and Life Sciences (EDCSV)
  • Doctoral School for Electronics, Electrotechnics, Automation Engineering and Signal Processing (ED EEATS)
  • Doctoral School for Health, Cognition and Environment Engineering (EDISCE)
  • Doctoral School for Physics (ED PHYSIQUE)

Each year, the Grenoble Institute of Neuroscience admits about ten new doctoral students. The first steps begin in spring.
