Neural mechanisms of value-based decision-making: intracranial investigations in humans

on the January 10, 2019
11:30

Seminar by Mathias Pessiglione (Motivation, Brain and Behavior Lab, Institut du Cerveau et de la Moëlle épinière, Paris).

Decision neuroscience in humans heavily relies on fMRI studies, which have identified a so-called brain valuation system. In this talk, I will compare the functional properties of value signals identified with fMRI versus intra-cranial recordings. Converging results provide a solid basis for understanding how the human brain makes a decision, and provide insights into several types of choice bias, such as the influence of mood fluctuations on risk attitude.

Host: Julien Bastin.
